Anthony Herrera, current board member and former Chairman of the Board, recently led a mission trip to Bukeka. He provided some words of encouragement for us all:

“The past two years the Board has supported GHOH with the construction of school buildings, safe houses, and a medical clinic. I was moved when touring a fully functioning and staffed medical clinic caring for our brothers and sisters from the surrounding community. I enjoyed hearing the joy in the voices of the nurses and lab technicians as they treat over 15,000 patients annually with the love of Christ. The medical clinic is serving a population that predominantly identifies as Muslim or practicing witchcraft. Currently, the medical clinic houses a check-in and lobby, pharmacy, patient rooms, laboratory, and doctors’ offices that is meeting necessary and basic medical needs. There remains a great need to expand the facility to include operating rooms that are more sophisticated, X-ray facilities, and dental offices.

Supporting children through the monthly sponsorship is a blessing that is life changing. I was revived with urgency to recruit more sponsors for the children as I visited Suubi Christian School and the 450+ children who not only have their basic needs and safety being provided by the school and safe houses but also now have hope for their life and eternity with Christ. Touring the community reminded me that child sacrifice remains a practice by those practicing witchcraft. We must stay steadfast in our commitment to these children.

God has heard and answered our prayers for the GHOH team.

Meeting with the Suubi Christian School administration and GHOH leadership team on the ground provided me with hope that there are Christian leaders who are called to serve the GHOH mission and deliver on the daily operations. Talent is key to any organization’s viability and Ronnie has recruited, retained, and developed a world-class team to move GHOH forward. These servant leaders are on the frontlines of the mission field and they are doing outstanding work for the Kingdom. Let’s keep sending them the supplies and support they desperately need to continue the Kingdom work.

If I can summarize what I witnessed and experienced in one sentence: The Kingdom is expanding in Bukeka!

Do not take my word for it. Go. Book the flight. Seven days. That is all you need to go and serve our brothers and sisters. You will return filled with hope and inspired that God is at work in our hearts, homes, community, and Bukeka.”
