Ending generational poverty goes beyond education, nutrition and access to medical care. To achieve our vision, we must deal with issues of discrimination and social stigma. Those who live in ostracized households are extremely vulnerable. They are not only victims of poverty and often disease, but also cut off from even the most basic social support.
► COMMUNITY EDUCATION AND DIALOGUE
We provide community education programs to target ignorance, prejudice, and unjust cultural practices. In addition, we develop support groups so that vulnerable people can encourage each other through fellowship, sharing of coping strategies and group empowerment efforts.
► VOCATIONAL SKILLS DEVELOPMENT
We partner with local and international artisans to provide vocational skills to vulnerable groups within the community. Sewing, crafts, and animal husbandry are taught and developed as viable income generating opportunities. We’re helping our local entrepreneurs to gain access to profitable markets for their skills and products.
► SAVINGS COOPERATIVES AND INVESTMENT CLUBS
Local and international business professionals offer community training in financial co-ops, savings and investment groups.
► CREDIT FINANCING
We partner with local business owners and private investors like you to provide credit financing for investment and growth opportunities. These loans are provided in the context of extensive mentoring, business education, transparency and accountability. These investments bring lasting changes in generational poverty for individuals, families, and the larger community.
